Astral Projection…

I’m in a patisserie in Paris. The enticing aroma of pistachio macaroons is wafting in the air, I think I’ll buy a dozen. Wait…I’m not in Paris at all, I’m in my very own bathtub at home, soaking in what is hands down THE best bath I have ever experienced!

It wasn’t astral projection I was experiencing, it was today’s euphoric product recommendation. Laura Mercier Creme de Pistache  Honey Bath and Souffle Body Creme are the two items that transported me from my bathroom in Montreal, Canada to an exotic bakery somewhere in France.

Until you’ve actually experienced this bath time sensation, you cannot know how amazing it really is.  Bubbles galore and a bathroom that smelled better than anything I can remember. Laura Mercier’s Body and Bath Collection is inspired by yummy confectionery creations like almond coconut, fresh fig, amber vanilla, creme Brule or my favorite pistachio. Each one smells better than the next and this time of year you can find a large variety of Limited Edition Gift Sets at most fine department stores (Neiman Marcus, Holt Renfrew, Sephora.com).

For The Boys…

Today we’re not talking movies, we’re talking products for the men in your life. Boyfriend, Father, Brother, Co-worker, whatever the relationship I have the perfect product present for that special HE on your list.

1.  For the Fancy Pants:  With Christmas/Hanukkah just around the corner, I love to give anything from The Art of Shaving. Whether it’s one of their gift sets for grooming/shaving or one of their chrome razor stands or brushes, these gifts perform and also look great in the bathroom.  They are a little on the pricey side, but they do make excellent gifts.

2.  For the ‘Fine Shmecker’ (def: man who knows quality):   Also for the shaving enthusiast, this is my go to men’s gift, Kiehl’s Ultimate Brushless Shave Cream (Blue or White Eagle). Whoever has been on the receiving end of this gift has always assured me it’s the best shave cream they’ve ever used and that it lasts longer than anything they’d ever purchased at the drug store.

3.  For the Everyman:  As a companion piece to number 2 on this list, Kiehl’s Facial Fuel is quite possibly the best men’s moisturizer out there. They have it formulated with and without SPF 15 (you know I like options) and usually around this time of the year you can get your hands on a gift set that incorporates the shave cream, moisturizer and a cleanser. Score!

4.  For the Smooochies:  Soft lips aren’t just for women anymore. With the wide array of products out there, men have no excuse but to have lips as soft as any woman out there. Jack Black’s Therapy Lip Balm SPF 25 is my boyfriends ‘lip gloss’ of choice (his words not mine). Available at Sephora.com and NeimanMarcus.com in 5 different varieties.

Tea Time…

Sorry, no crumpets or finger sandwiches here. Just another awesome product recommendation.

As a rule I try not to blog about products from a company I’ve recently written about, but todays items are so good I couldn’t wait to share them with you.

So here goes…

The Black Tea Collection from Fresh has blown my mind with its firming, soothing and smoothing effects it’s had on my skin. The line consists of 4 anti-aging products (I have yet to try the serum, so today’s post does not reference it) inspired by Kombucha. When creator Lev Glazman noticed how drinking Kombucha energized the body, he came up with a skin care line that could do the same for the skin.

Black Tea Age Delay Cream at $95 isn’t cheap, but neither are its effects on the skin. I use it daily over my Chanel Weekday Serum (see Cuckoo for Coco) and it really does pack a punch. My skin feels really hydrated and Fresh (no pun intended)! After loving its results I decided to try the Black Tea Instant Perfecting Mask  and if ever a product did what it claims, this was IT! My skin was amazing after the first use. The whipped formula goes on cool and you can feel your face energized instantly. Your skin looks plump and healthier than it did before. 

Since we are approaching Holiday Season, sometimes you can get your hands on a sample pack if you’re not quite ready to invest in the line since it is pricey. I am sure however once you’ve sampled the products you’ll be putting it on your “WANT! NEED! MUST HAVE!”  lists come Xmas/Chanukkah time.
